The CITD Missions Committee is very active with mission projects ranging from local to international needs. On-going projects include serving meals to homeless families through the United Methodist Outreach Ministry’s (UMOM) overflow shelters. Each Christmas, gifts are donated for children at a local school who likely will find little or nothing under their tree on Christmas morning without the help of CITD. A monthly food drive is held to support the Paradise Valley Food Bank. The Missions Committee has also adopted a child in Niger through World Vision. Our monthly pledge is supported through the sales of Bashas’ gift certificates. The Missions Committee supports the connectional United Methodist Church through assistance to NOMAD’s, UMCOR, and the Board of Global Ministries. Currently, the committee is planning a missions trip to Mexico in the spring of 2009. All persons are encouraged to demonstrate their love for God by joining us in these important mission projects. In Galatians 5:13, Paul admonishes us to “…do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.” For more information, contact Sue and Earl Wilson.
