We want you to consider making Cross in the Desert your church home. We're small enough to know each other by name and large enough to offer a variety of small groups and activities to meet your special interests.
The church is a wonderful place to make new friends, help you and your family grow in your faith, and find a place of service that will make a difference in the lives of others.
We like to pray, we like to worship -- and we like to have fun!

February 17 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent. The Biblical witness is found in the opening epic of the human story: "you are dust and to dust you shall return" (Gen 3:19). In the tenth century the use of ashes was employed in visibly reminding worshipers of their mortality as they began their Lenten "watch by the cross." Family Night participants will not be meeting at 6 pm this evening. Come to Ash Wednesday Service at 7 pm. Children will be dismissed during the service to go to the Guthrie Building and learn about the meaning of Ash Wednesday. |

Weds Lenten Study & Worship |
Lenten Studies - February 24 through March 24. 5 pm - The United Methodist Women will be serving a soup supper each week. 6 pm - Pastor Mel will be leading a study, Growing Spiritually - raising our consciousness of God. Why do some people worship one particular way while others choose a very different of expressing religious devotion? Why is it that it seems we are “fixed” in the way we connect with God and yet we yearn for something more? Is there more? Why are some people very satisfied with their spiritual experience while others don't seem to “fit” anywhere? Can a person formulate an “action plan” for spiritual growth? Or just leave it up to chance? These are the types of questions which will be explored in our five week study. |
